For the benefit of the owners, future use of guests and your own safety we require that you abide by the following rule for the use of the property.
Parking: Only four parking spaces are provided. Do not park in areas other than those specifically indicated in the Site Plan ie. only four vehicles allowed.
Garbage: Do not leave any refuse or litter on the property. This includes interior garbage and recycling bins. All garbage and recycling needs to be removed when you leave.
Pets: We welcome dogs (sorry no cats, one of the owners has serious allergies) and you must pick up all poop and repair any holes or damage created by them prior to leaving.
BBQ: You are welcome to use the BBQ. Please brush-clean the BBQ before you leave.
Smoking: The cottage interior is a non-smoking environment. If you will be smoking outside please clean up all butts.
Watercraft: 2 kayaks, a paddleboat and a paddleboard are provided for your use. lease ensure they are locked to the dock storage arms when you leave with the cable lock provided. The keys are located by the side entry door in the cottage.
Safety Equipment: Life jackets, paddles and related safety equipment are provided for your use. Please ensure they are returned to their storage location when you leave. Please be reminded that you are required by law to have a lifejacket or PFD (Personal Flotation Device) on board for each person on a watercraft. This includes human-powered craft such as our kayaks. We have a variety of PFDs available, however, should there be a need for type or size in addition to those provided, it is the renters responsibility to provide it. In addition to this a Marine Safety Kit is required to go out with ANY of the watercraft. This has already proved useful for one of our visitors. This is also a ministry of transport law unfortunately and we have provided these for your use as well. Check the battery in the kit before use. Batteries are provided should they ones in the kits be dead.
Campfire: No wood fires are to be made outside the metal fire container provided. Unfortunately, you must purchase fire wood locally since bringing firewood into the region is illegal (due to the possible importing of pest such as the emerald ash borer.) Firewood can be purchased at the Coboconk “Foodland” grocery store as well as a few other places. Clean dry wood is the only material to be burned and we ask that someone always be present when it's burning. We have a blower to help start fires which is stored on the shelves by the toaster. Please put out the fire using the conveniently located hose when your done with it. If the campfire is not warm enough for you we have electric blankets stored under the king size bed and extension cords in the garage.
Fishing
Please feel free to use the fishing rods in the garage, but please use your own tackle. If you need to get some, there's Norland Convenience Bait and Tackle a few minutes north at 3465 Monck Rd. They sells all manner or bait and supplies as well as tasty snacks to munch on while trying to catch dinner. The lake is 22 metres at its deepest and averages 7.8 metres. You can try your hand catching Pickerel, Lake Trout, Muskie, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Sunfish, Carp or Bullhead. Try dusk and dawn topwater fishing around any of the rocky islands that run the centre of the lake out from Island View Park.
Boat Mooring: During your stay, mooring a small boat to the dock is allowed. See “Boat Launch Location.”
Note: The owner reserved the right to replace any stolen or damaged property (which may cause it to be rendered inoperable) at the renters expense,
